Mental health problems are experienced by 1 in 4 people in the UK each year and so it is vital to promote awareness in both our personal and professional lives. This session, run by accredited Mental Health First Aider Hannah Scorfield, aims to increase your mental health awareness.
This interactive session will give you an understanding of:
- The issues that impact and relate to people’s mental health
- Practical skills that can be used every day, including being able to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health issues
- Ways to start a conversation with someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue and how to guide people towards appropriate support
Hannah is a warm and engaging individual and has previously conducted similar training in the workplace whilst working in HR.
Join us for dinner afterwards at Lost & Found serving delicious steak, pizza, pasta and much more! The menu can be found here.
As the name suggests, this is no ordinary quiz. You don’t need an encyclopaedic knowledge of 1950s curling champions or 18th century French monarchy to enjoy the evening. Instead, we’ll be exercising our creative muscles.
Ever dreamt of sculpting a masterpiece from plasticine or pitching a new TV show? Now’s your chance! Don’t worry if you’re an artistic amateur – the rounds will be varied, interesting, and most of all, fun. And no fundraising event would be complete without a raffle. There’ll be no re-gifted toiletries; we’ve secured some great prizes.
Along with supporting a fantastic cause, this event will be a great opportunity to network with professionals from a variety of sectors. You’ll also get to learn more about our amazing organisation and upcoming events.
Teams will consist of 5-7 people. Individuals and smaller teams may be merged together – a great way to meet new people!
Why We’re Supporting Leeds Mind
JCI UK is focusing on mental health and wellbeing in 2019. That’s why we’ll be donating £5 from every ticket to Leeds Mind. All sales from the raffle tickets will also be donated to the charity.
Leeds Mind supports people with mental health difficulties, providing supportive services and activities throughout the Leeds area. They believe that everyone can lead a full, active and rewarding life, and work with clients to support them in achieving their goals and engaging in their local communities.
The quiz will be held in The Adelphi‘s upstairs function room.
With sumptuous period features and contemporary touches, The Adelphi’s interior boasts traditional Victorian wood and glass panelling, classic tiled fireplace, private function room and an outdoor area for those milder months. Attracting a diverse clientele, this unique pub reflects the friendly, alternative vibe of the local Leeds area, whilst keeping the authenticity of a true British local at its heart.
